Shaona Baseball Club dominates Kenyan Tournament

📣 As envisioned while making the grant request, the funds donated by “Angel’s at Bat” were
utilized to facilitate accommodation: meals and local transportation costs for 13 players and 2
coaches from Shaona Baseball Club, Kampala.

🏆 Shaona baseball Club took the main trophy for the U18 category after two days of high
standard performance by all teams, which will positively impact the development of youth and
children’s baseball in the country by giving budding players the motivation to work harder in
readiness for the 2026 edition of the tournament.

💪 The team’s participation helped raise the standard of competition during the tournament, given
Uganda is ranked 2nd in Africa by WBSC, besides promoting sportsmanship and friendships
among the players in the spirit of East African Community states whose mission is economic,
political and social integration.

⚾️ This will also help build momentum on the long anticipated Africa Baseball Club Championship
which has drawn the interest more than 10 clubs from across the continent with already three
teams each from Tanzania, Zanzibar and Uganda having participated in Baseball 4 Africa
Championships as guest teams.
